Themis' Uncertain Court

Judge Ando is assigned to the Maebashi District Court First Branch. Diagnosed as a child with ASD and ADHD, he conceals his condition from those around him. One day, the mayor is attacked, and the defendant, who was expected to plead guilty, suddenly denies the charges at the first hearing. Ando begins investigating the truth as he grapples with his own impulses.

Onozaki must defend a high school basketball player accused of assault. Though she initially believes her client's claim of self-defense, something about the witness testimony prompts her to head to the crime scene, where she encounters Ando. When they find a truth that is unfavorable to the defendant, Onozaki is torn between protecting her client's interests and pursuing the truth.

A driver for a transport company dies in an accident during work, killing a pedestrian. His daughter Shinomiya files a civil lawsuit, claiming excessive workload is at fault, but the company asserts the driver's negligence. Shinomiya's attorney places her hopes on Judge Kadokura, the "Legendary Rebel." Ando questions if he is fit to be a judge after his disorder impacts the trial.

The trial over the driver's accident continues, and new evidence indicating the company's liability is found. But the shadow of a government-linked organization looms behind the company, and a warning from the Supreme Court makes Kadokura hesitate in his litigation strategy. He then has something unexpected to say to Ando, who is keeping his resignation letter tucked away..

Enforcement Officer Tsumura is stabbed while serving an eviction notice to a Vietnamese resident. Ochiai, an assistant judge who prioritizes documentary evidence, claims the eviction order she issued was apt and that the fault lies with Tsumura's carelessness. Valuing witness testimony, Ando proposes a court-led investigation into the motive behind the stabbing, but Ochiai objects.

Kazuma Akiba is executed for the murder of a family of four. Twenty-five years after the incident, Akiba's daughter seeks a retrial with new evidence, claiming her father's innocence. Conflicted over whether to allow the retrial and involve himself in the proceedings, Ando recalls bitter memories of his past with the prosecutor who pushed for Akiba's death sentence.

The retrial proceedings come to a halt as prosecutors refuse to disclose evidence. Presiding Judge Kadokura decides the court will take the lead in finding new evidence. Meanwhile, new information reaches the court. Ando, intrigued by another seemingly unrelated case, visits the victim's father with Onozaki. But as their investigation progresses, Ando receives unexpected news.
