FAQ
Does MySubtitles access my streaming accounts?▾
No. We don’t access your streaming credentials. The extension renders subtitles on pages you explicitly enable.
Where are my subtitle preferences stored?▾
Locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local). You can optionally sync selected settings to your account later.
Will you add AI features?▾
Yes—optional AI modes (OCR/ASR/translation) are planned. They’re off by default, clearly labeled, and require consent. When feasible, we run models on-device; otherwise, short snippets are processed in the cloud and not retained.
Do you store audio or screen contents?▾
No raw media is stored. For cloud-assisted AI, short snippets are transmitted securely and discarded after producing results.
Can I change the website/app language?▾
Language selection (i18n) is coming. Your choice will be stored locally and can optionally sync to your account.
How do I uninstall?▾
Remove the extension from your browser’s extension settings. You can also clear local preferences from your browser storage.
